Turquoise Rice Donabe with Hinoki Wooden Lid
Turquoise rice donabe 5-cup with hand-carved hinoki wood lid handmade in Japan. The wooden lid creates a nice aroma while cooking rice.
This donabe is particularly designed for making rice and rice dishes.
Although it could be used for a one-cup portion, it's best for a 3-6 cup portion.
Estimated heat control for cooking rice (it varies based on your environment):
- Medium heat for 10 min.
- Medium-high heat for 5 min.
- When steam blows out or there is a crackling sound from inside the clay pot, then turn off the heat
- Steam for 15 minutes. *Do not open the lid.
Made by hand; slight variation in sizing and shaping can be expected. It’s not to be used on electric stoves. Please take a look at the Medome process before using it.
